Gaps to fill in Blues' squad

Birmingham City boss Chris Davies said there are "gaps to fill" in his squad, but admitted the Championship Club may have to be patient in a slow summer transfer market.
Blues have so far brought in defender Dael Fry following his exit from Middlesbrough and re-signed Brighton goalkeeper James Beadle on another loan, while midfielder Jhon Solis' loan move was made permanent.
Japan international midfielder Kyogo Furuhashi and defender Kai Wagner, meanwhile, have left for MLS clubs LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union, respectively.
"We've got a few gaps to fill still which we're working on and hopefully, in due course, that will happen," Davies told BBC Radio WM.
"It seems like the World Cup has slowed things down a little bit.
"Unfortunately you have to typically wait until towards the end [of pre-season] and sometimes when the season's actually started when you finalise your squad.
"It's a curious situation, but from our point of view, we've identified some players that we'd like to bring in and hopefully we can do that."
Davies said that midfielder Paik Seung-Ho should feature in Friday's friendly with Barcelona at St Andrew's, while defender Ethan Laird has returned to training, and Phil Neumann is expected back this week.
All missed the weekend's pre-season wins over League Two sides Crewe and Northampton Town.
But there were concerns over the fitness of midfielder Taylor Gardner-Hickman.
"Taylor has picked up an injury," Davies said.
"I'm not sure on the severity but it looks like it could be a bad injury to his leg, but we'll have to see in the next few days."
