Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream have won four consecutive games after a tough loss to the Indiana Fever. However, the last win over the LA Sparks was special for the center, as she set the WNBA record for most rebounds in a game (26). After the game, the moment was a little spoiled by a media person’s blunder, which resulted in widespread conversation on social media.
Reese added 11 points and a massive 26 rebounds, including eight offensive rebounds. Though Nneka Ogwumike also scored a double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds, she could not contribute to the win.
After the game, Reese was asked about her feelings on setting the WNBA record, but the media person accidentally said “NBA record” instead of “WNBA record,” which drew a sharp and interesting comment from the player. The reporter tried to lighten the situation, saying, “You know what I am talking about, right?” Reese responded:
“No I don’t cuz I be setting NBA records too!”
A user on X shared the clip and wrote in the caption:
“Darling, just be humble. We acknowledge what you did.”

Reese has led the league in rebounds this season, averaging 12.4 per game. Moreover, the Dream have punched their ticket to the postseason.

Reese also holds the all-time single-season rebounds record, as the Dream shared the feat on Instagram:
