Wrexham fans set to gather in New York ahead of landmark Liverpool match at Yankee Stadium

Wrexham supporters will gear up for a landmark match against Liverpool at Yankee Stadium with a dedicated gathering in New York City before kickoff.
Wogies Bar and Grill in the Financial District (44 Trinity Place) has emerged as a meeting point for Wrexham followers in New York, providing matchday beverage promotions and club memorabilia displayed throughout the establishment and previously hosting club co-owner Rob Mac (formerly McElhenney) behind the bar. Now, it will stage a dedicated Q&A with hosts of two prominent Wrexham podcasts in advance of Wednesday's fixture (July 29).
Andy Gilpin and Tim Edwards from Fearless in Devotion and Nathan Salt and Rich Fay from RobRyanRed will appear at 2 p.m. E.T. at Wogies for a Q&A with supporters. The establishment sits just a brief stroll from the 4 Subway line, transporting fans directly up to Yankee Stadium to witness Wrexham face Liverpool at 7:30 p.m. E.T., as per The Mirror US .

The tour represents the latest chapter of Wrexham's extraordinary transformation under celebrity co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, elevating the club from the fifth tier of English soccer to the EFL Championship, now just one division below the Premier League. Even Reynolds couldn't contain his enthusiasm for their upcoming encounter against Liverpool in New York City.
Speaking on SportsCenter about the entire US Tour, which also features fixtures against Sunderland and Leeds United, Reynolds said: "It's not even, it's so far beyond pinch me. It's like a punch me moment.
"I don't know what to say about this. I mean, the fact that Wrexham is coming to America, on their third trip, last of which being in in 2024, but we're not only coming to America to play again, in what has always been the most exhilarating and exciting thing to see live, but to do it with three Premier League teams in a row, in Tampa, New York, and Philly, is pretty amazing. You know? To have to play to host Liverpool FC in Yankee Stadium with, that that kind of history and pedigree.
"I just don't know what to make of it. I mean, we cannot wait to fill that stadium and, and watch the watch the boys out there just do what they do best. I mean, it's always so electric. And, you know, the 165-year-plus history of Wrexham has seen its fair share of giant killings.
"And, you know, Liverpool is as big as it gets, certainly, on the world stage. So we're very excited to see what we can do."

Prior to the tour's kick-off, manager Phil Parkinson commented: "We're really looking forward to it. Myself, Steve, Kev, Dave and Aidan have all been involved in the detail, travel and choice of games. There's been an air of anticipation for this trip because of the stadiums we're playing at and the opposition we're playing against.
"We haven't been to the US for two years, but the last time we went, the attendances and atmospheres were right up there. The kind of support we had was brilliant, and it's good to be taking another group of players out there with us.
"This is a new squad - for the majority of the lads, this is their first tour with Wrexham, and there's a real buzz around the building."
Chief business and communications officer Robert Faulkner told The Athletic : "I had a taster last year in Australia and New Zealand. We were playing local teams and yet the crowd was split at least 50-50 in all three games.
"In New Zealand, we probably had more than 50 per cent of the crowd against Wellington Phoenix. Most had the shirt on, they all wanted to meet Wayne from The Turf and the players.

"Then, the next thing you know, someone you met on the other side of the world is suddenly walking towards you in Wrexham, having got really engaged with the club at a pre-season friendly. Amazing.
"It's why these tours are so important, especially with the new stand going up and an extra 7,500 seats being available after the coming season. Once that happens, we will have capacity to finally start to satisfy the strong demand, both internationally and locally."
