The San Francisco 49ers have a few players battling injury early in training camp in addition to head coach Kyle Shanahan being a limited participant following a car crash earlier in July.
A 49ers rookie had to be carted off the practice field on Monday after a scare.
Per ESPN's Nick Wagoner, four 49ers players were not available to practice on Monday due to injuries: offensive lineman Vederian Lowe, defensive linemen Gracen Halton and Andrew Farmer, and wide receiver Christian Kirk.

Per Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, defensive end Romello Height was carted off the field after he appeared to suffer an injury. San Francisco's medical staff was checking out Height's right leg and arms.
"Rookie DE Romello Height sustained an injury in practice and was carted off the field," Maiocco posted on X. "The medical staff appeared to be working on both his right leg and both arms. He was lifted onto the cart. Practice ended shortly thereafter."
The 49ers revealed Height's issue after the practice, noting the third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft was dealing with cramps.
"The 49ers announce that Romello Height had cramps," Maiocco wrote.
The young rookie will need to learn to take care of his body and stay hydrated in training camp to avoid cramps in the future.
Height has a chance to become a key member of the 49ers rotation at edge this fall. During his final season at Texas Tech, Height recorded 32 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, nine sacks and two forced fumbles. He made first-team All-Big 12 honors for 2025.
The 49ers hope to avoid the injury bug this season after struggling to stay healthy in 2024 and 2025. San Francisco had good news to start training camp with Nick Bosa returning to practice after suffering an ACL injury last season.
