Indiana football got another massive boost to its 2026 defense on Thursday.
Kellan Wyatt, who spent the 2025 season with Indiana, will return to the Hoosiers roster for the upcoming season after receiving an additional year of eligibility following a district court ruling in Colorado, per reporting from ESPN’s Pete Thamel . He started in Indiana’s first seven games before suffering a season-ending knee injury against Michigan State.
Wyatt finished the 2025 season with 28 total tackles, 12 solo tackles and 2.5 sacks. He was key to a defensive line that produced consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks including six sacks on Oregon quarterback Dante Moore during the regular season matchup against the Ducks.
Wyatt’s return, alongside that of fellow defensive lineman Stephen Daley, gives the Hoosiers one of if not the deepest defensive line in college football. Indiana already reloaded in the transfer portal this past offseason, adding defensive ends Tobi Osunsanmi and Chiddi Obiazor from Kansas State.
