Taysom Hill announced Wednesday that while he doesn’t have a clear answer about what the future holds for his NFL career, he won't be returning to the New Orleans Saints in 2026.
Hill is going into his tenth year in the NFL, but Ferguson believes the do-everything weapon could instantly upgrade the tight end room for the Broncos .
"I say bring him into Denver," Ferguson said in a video posted on his Twitter/X page. "You're probably telling yourself, 'Well, the Broncos already have a bevy of tight ends.' That is part of the problem. You have way too many tight ends and only so many are going to make the team... I think Taysom Hill will be an excellent upgrade to the Broncos ' tight end."
Ferguson suggested using Hill as a blocking tight end, something the Broncos have struggled with in years past, while also giving quarterback Bo Nix a proven weapon on offense.

He was cut by the Packers before completely transforming under Payton and the Saints . Hill became the original Swiss Army knife, doing everything from throwing passes to catching passes and blocking punts. Hill is the only player in the Super Bowl era to gain 1,000 or more yards on the ground and through the air (both as the passer and receiver). Between 118 regular season matchups and six playoff games, Hill scored 59 touchdowns: 34 as a rusher, 13 as a receiver, and 12 times throwing the ball himself. He also went 7-2 as a starting quarterback from 2020 to 2021.
Hill's most memorable performance came in a 2019 playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. Hill became the first player in NFL history to record 50 passing yards, rush for 50 yards, catch 25 or more yards, and record a tackle. Here is a full breakdown of his numbers, courtesy of Saints Wire :

Hill will turn 36 in August, and has overcome significant injuries throughout his collegiate and professional career. Although he is a Payton favorite, it's hard to imagine seeing a beat-up 36-year-old iron man on an otherwise up-and-coming young team.
