Barcelona learn Luis Suárez asking price
The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have been made aware of the massive sum with which they would be forced to part to sign Luis Suárez from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP this summer.
This of course comes amid mounting speculation linking the Blaugrana with a move for the Colombian international.
Frontman Suárez has taken his place at the forefront of the media headlines surrounding Hansi Flick’s Barcelona across the day to date. Amid ongoing frustration in their pursuit of priority striker target Julián Alvarez , Deco and the Camp Nou brass are understood to have earmarked the 28-year-old as a viable alternative.
Suárez is fresh off a spectacular campaign in Portugal in 2025/26, giving rise to 47 direct goal contributions in 53 appearances all told.
With as much in mind, it should therefore come as little surprise to learn of the brass at The Estádio José Alvalade demanding a premium fee for their star goalscorer…
As per a report from transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano:
‘Sporting make it clear that they have no plans to sell Luis Suárez this summer, seen as a key player. Sporting have been pointing to €80m release clause to every club interested this summer, since June.’
