Former Patriots running back and current CBS Sports analyst Damien Harris thinks the former third-round pick is going to turn into one of quarterback Drake Maye's favorite receiving targets this season.
Williams had a productive 2025 season given his limited role. He had 10 catches for 208 yards, with three of those catches going for touchdowns. The former Washington State standout flashed his speed and playmaking ability on offense for the Patriots as a rookie.
However, can he take things to the next level in 2026? That's what everyone will be watching to see when the Patriots start the season.
“I think he’s gonna open a lot of eyes this season, and I think he’s gonna turn into one of Drake Maye’s favorite targets," Harris said .
The opportunity to make plays should be there, with top playmakers like A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs drawing most of the attention. A talented quarterback like Maye, along with an offensive guru in Josh McDaniels, should be able to cook up the right recipe for Williams' success.
