San Francisco Giants first baseman Rafael Devers
The San Francisco Giants are not having the season they hoped for, but they have seen great things from Rafael Devers.
Devers is one home run shy of being just the second Giants player since 2004 to hit 30 home runs in a season. Last season, Willy Adames broke the drought since Barry Bonds' 45-homer season in 2004 by hitting his 30th home run on the final day of the season. Devers has 29 homers on Aug. 27.
Last year, only 13 of Adames' home runs came at Oracle Park, a venue known to be tough for power hitters. However, Devers hit his 16th home run at home on Tuesday, joining Bonds as the only other player in history to hit at least 16 home runs in a single season at Oracle Park.
Bonds achieved the feat six times in his career. Devers was traded to the Giants in the middle of the season last year, but hit 11 home runs at Oracle Park. He could have achieved the feat last year had he played the entire season with the Giants.

Being in a club where Bonds is the only other member is a great thing for Devers. He has an .810 OPS this season and should clear 30 homers very soon. Unfortunately for the Giants, their other star players have not played at a high level like Devers, and their season will end at 162 games.
