There's never been an NFL player quite like Taysom Hill, and there may never be another.
And while Hill isn't quite signing up for retirement yet, he is saying goodbye to the New Orleans Saints , the only team he's ever suited up for in the league.
Hill released a heartfelt statement on Wednesday night through the Saints' social media channels:

Hill will turn 36 years old in August.
In his career, he has run for 2,551 yards, received 1,034 yards and thrown for 2,426 yards. He's the first player in the Super Bowl era to clear 1,000 in all three.
In 2025, Hill ran for 114 yards and a touchdown, caught 11 passes for 91 yards and completed 2-of-6 passes for 57 yards and a TD.
Hill is a tricky player to add because he requires a plan specific to him. Without such a strategy, he's not necessarily useful.
The Denver Broncos have been thrown out often as a destination, because they have Sean Payton, but it feels like if that was going to happen, it may already have gotten done.
It also may never quite be made clear why the Saints didn't want to bring Hill back -- but since they had him in their building every day, they know better than anyone what his prospects of future contributions might be.
Regardless of what Hill does next, he's one of those dudes who no one will forget anytime soon.
Other players have been suggested as the "next Taysom Hill." That's foolish, though.
There's only one Taysom Hill.
