See the full story · 1 sourcesThe New York Giants had a rough go of things last season, but they're probably happy with how the offseason turned out.
The Giants won just four games last season, and head coach Brian Daboll lost his job mid-season as a result of the team's poor performance. But the team retained much of the promising young talent on the roster and added several critical pieces. Perhaps no addition was more important than new head coach John Harbaugh, who parted ways with the Ravens last season after missing the postseason, but led Baltimore to a Super Bowl last year.
Ceiling: 10-7
Jaxson Dart is a legitimate threat as a starting quarterback and has the same dual-threat capabilities that Lamar Jackson excelled with under Harbaugh's leadership in Baltimore. And Harbaugh has a proven track record as a winning coach in the league. If everything falls into place, the Giants could be a double-digit-win team and a playoff contender.
Floor: 5-12
There is a chance there is just too much work to be done for the Giants to make a major turnaround in Harbaugh's first year on the job. There is some talent on the roster, but this also isn't a roster that has a ton of elite-caliber players on it. Suppose Jaxson Dart doesn't take the next step forward as an NFL quarterback. There's little reason to expect things to get much worse than last year, but they also might not be much better.
