After an improbable turnaround that has put the Red Sox in the postseason picture, many have wondered how they’ll approach this year’s deadline.
The Red Sox have been rumored to be in the market for a shortstop or a catcher as they look to bolster their team for the final two months of the season.
Reports surfaced that said the Orioles are discussing a trade with the Red Sox that involves catcher Adley Rutschman.
Some big moves have already happened including the Dodgers acquiring Tarik Skubal from the Tigers, the Mets trading Freddy Peralta to the Rays and the Yankees acquiring Luis García from the Nationals.

“For (president of baseball operations Mike) Elias to trade Rutschman to a division rival, let’s just say the return had better be good for him to avoid a fan revolt in Baltimore.
“Such a return might not be possible - Rutschman is a free agent after the 2027 season, which could be shortened or canceled by a lockout. Rutschman also is on the injured list for the third time this season, this time with left wrist inflammation.”
