Height: 6’1”
Weight: 190lb
Position: DB
Class: Fifth Year

Summary: One could argue that Tayon Halloway is the face of the Louisville secondary. The returning defensive back finished 2025 with 42 tackles, and a handful of tackles for loss, to go along of course with his multiple pass break up and two inceptions. Where did he get those two inceptions one might ask? The 6:50 and 8:24 marks on the video below may be of interest…
Of course, Halloway became a notable name back in 2024 with his triple threat block/scoop/score in the closing minutes of the Georgia Tech game. If only there was a way to relive that…I gotchu.
Halloway has been in the system, knows the expectations, and has been a reliable corner for Ellis the last couple years. I think all parties involved, Halloway included, want to see the next level of lockdown defense from Tayon in 2026 and help elevate this secondary from good to great. Halloway is a day one starter and will be leaned on heavily to repeat some of the same success this unit saw in 2025. I believe the desire to repeat or even exceed the level of success this defense saw last year leans heavily on guys like Halloway, Lubin, Capers, and so on to continue their trajectory or success. Reports from the fall seem to indicate Tayon is leading this unit well, and playing high level football early. Lets hope we see it continue into the season.
