Washington Huskies Make Final List For Top 50 Class of 2027 Prospect
The Washington Huskies seem to be placing themselves in much better shape to make an impact in the recruiting for several top Class of 2027 players compared to the Class of 2026.
The Huskies missed out on five-star '26 guard Dylan Mingo despite being among his finalists. The only '26 graduate UW landed was three-star small forward Lattimore Ford.

— JPR (@Scouting_Col) July 1, 2026 Washington's addition of Ford gave the roster seven players, including six returners from last season. The Huskies used the transfer portal and international commitments to fill out the rest of their 15-man squad.
So far, Washington has made a noticeable effort attempting to earn commitments from the Class of '27. It has already hosted local kid (Bremerton, Wash.) and five-star combo guard Jalen Davis for several visits, including an official one, and are set to have him back on campus during the fall.
The Huskies were also recently named as one of the eight final teams being considered by five-star small forward Malachi Jordan , who's one of the top 20 players in the nation for the Class of '27.
Washington made another final list for another top 50 prospect among the '27 graduating class.
According to a report from 247Sports reporter Dushawn London, the Huskies are one of the final eight teams being considered by four-star point guard J'Lon Lyons. The other seven teams being considered by the 6-foot-3 floor general are: the Maryland Terrapins, Syracuse Orange, Butler Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, Virginia Cavaliers, Georgetown Hoyas and Virginia Commonwealth (VCU) Rams.

— DMV Live (@DMVHoopsLive) June 13, 2026 Lyons attends Clinton Grace Christian High School in Clinton, Md., where he averaged 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game his junior year last fall. He was named the Maryland boys basketball Gatorade Player of the Year after his breakout third year.
Washington hasn't hosted Lyons for an official or unofficial visit and doesn't have one scheduled, per his player page on On3 Sports . He was offered by UW on June 15. He currently has official visits scheduled with Georgetown (Sept. 1), VCU (Sept. 9) and Syracuse (Sept. 12). He's taken one unofficial visit apiece with each of those three schools he currently has an official visit scheduled with.
According to On3 Sports prediction model , the Orange have the likeliest odds to earn a commitment from Lyons at 47.9%.
Lyons is ranked as the 43rd-best overall player, 12th-best point guard and best player in Maryland in the Class of '27 per the 247Sports composite . Rivals.com's Industry rankings has Lyons ranked as the 46th-best overall player, 15th-best point guard and best player in Maryland.
