“It was a fun offseason, man! Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated and had fun with us!” the NFL player told the media during the team’s training camp on Wednesday (Aug. 12). “That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night! It was full of a lot of celebration.”
He tried to shut down further conversation about his nuptials to focus on his sport with a simple, “But it’s football, baby.”
But of course, the journalists wanted more, and Kelce obliged briefly to discuss having the wedding at The World’s Most Famous Arena, New York City’s Madison Square Garden. “It’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there,” he enthused. “I can’t thank the owners of MSG enough for allowing us the opportunity do that knowing that we wanted a private event and everything. It was perfect. And the AC was cooking, baby! That was the best part!”
Kelce’s comments come a little more than a month after he and the 14-time Grammy winner married in a lavish, star-studded ceremony on July 3. Though some details of the celebrations have since been shared by guests — such as performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, who caught the bouquet and the raffles and their accompanying luxury gifts — much is still yet to be revealed. The only details the newlyweds shared in a statement shortly after exchanging vows was that their friend Adam Sandler officiated, that Swift’s brother was her man of honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ best man, and that the couple’s outfits were designed by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
Neither Swift nor the football player have shared photos of their wedding yet. The pop superstar — who is set to be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame this fall — has yet to publicly discuss her glamorous nuptials.
