Everything we know about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Part 2 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Sign in to your Polygon.com account It’s been a little over a year since Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle first debuted in Japanese theaters on July 18, 2025. After its global debut in August, it earned $793.5 million at the box office , making it the highest-grossing Japanese movie of all time and the highest-grossing international film in the United States.
After a lengthy wait, Infinity Castle is finally debuting on streaming today on Crunchyroll. It is also available for rent or purchase on Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and YouTube Movies & TV.
A year after Infinity Castle ’s theatrical debut, Demon Slayer fans are asking an obvious question: where’s the next part of the story?
Infinity Castle Part 2 and Part 3 have been confirmed. When animation studio Ufotable announced Demon Slayer : Infinity Castle in 2024 after the show’s fourth season ended, it was revealed as part of a film trilogy that would adapt the manga’s Infinity Castle arc.
Ufotable has not given any recent updates on the status of Part 2 . However, it is very possible the company will provide an update later this year. Every December, the manga publisher Shueisha holds its Jump Festa convention. Shueisha publishes Weekly Shōnen Jump , the magazine that the Demon Slayer manga ran in from 2016 to 2020. It is quite possible that the next big update on Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 will come then.
There isn't a trailer yet for Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 . We'll probably get a first look when the film gets an official release window. The previous movie received its first trailer roughly a year before it was released in theaters.
There hasn’t been a direct confirmation of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Part 2 ’s release date; in all likelihood, it won’t come out until 2027. The first installment in the trilogy took three and a half years to animate , with Ufotable beginning production at the same time as the show’s third season.
The first season aired in 2019 with 26 episodes, with the second running about a year and a half later, from 2021 to 2022. Then the third season ran in 2023, the fourth in 2024, and the first Infinity Castle film came out in July 2025. Based on this release cadence, a 2027 release seems likely. If the movie was coming out in 2026, Ufotable would likely have announced it by now, considering its predecessor was revealed a year in advance.
Demon Slayer takes place in an alternate version of 20th-century Japan where humankind has been at war with monsters called demons for centuries. These supernatural creatures are infected former humans who can only be killed by specific means, like exposure to sunlight or decapitation with swords made from Nichirin alloy.
The story centers on Tanjiro Kamado, a teenager who vows to protect his sister Nezuko after the rest of their family is slaughtered by demons. He joins the Demon Slayer Corps, a group that’s been battling these vampire-like foes for generations. Tanjiro trains alongside fellow newcomers Zenitsu and Inosuke, slowly growing stronger through battle. He eventually learns that all demons originate from a man named Muzan Kibutsuji, who also happens to be the one who killed Tanjiro’s family.
The first Infinity Castle film follows Tanjiro and the highest-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corps as they corner a wounded Muzan, who flees into his stronghold, the Infinity Castle. This headquarters is a shifting non-Euclidean space full of Muzan’s most powerful remaining allies. After getting separated, the members of the Demon Slayer Corps attempt to survive while trying to finish off Muzan before he can recover.
The first movie in the Infinity Castle trilogy adapts 17 out of 44 chapters from this arc of the manga. After the Infinity Castle arc concludes, there is still one more section of the story that runs for 22 chapters. While the next two Infinity Castle films could adapt the last quarter of the manga, this seems a bit unlikely given it’s taken four seasons and two movies to get through the first 156 chapters. At this rate, it's very possible the story won't conclude for another two or three years.
