(KABC) -- Investigators are looking over surveillance video trying to figure out who stole a pricey statue from outside Paramount City Hall honoring the town's military veterans.
The "Battlefield Cross and Soldier" was the centerpiece of the city's armed forces memorial, paying tribute to the people from Paramount who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Some parts of the memorial were stolen last year, as well. A person of interest was arrested in that case.
This latest theft, where the entire statue was swiped happened on Wednesday.
The sheriff's department said it was likely targeted because it's made out of bronze, which can be valuable when sold for scrap metal.
