See the full story · 1 sourcesIt was another frustrating day for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and the offense on Day 2 of training camp. Daniels was fine, but he didn't have much help against a defense that threw the kitchen sink at him.
Thursday began with the news that center Nick Allegretti strained his calf on Wednesday, while wide receiver Treylon Burks sat out, as he was dealing with a sore foot. Head coach Dan Quinn said neither injury is serious and both should return soon.
So, which players stood out on Day 2? We look at four standouts from the second day of Washington's training camp.
RB Rachaad White
While there are no pads yet, that hasn't stopped Rachaad White from impressing with his opportunities. White is expected to be in a timeshare with Jacory Croskey-Merritt, with him handling most of the passing-game duties. However, we've been hearing since the spring how impressed the Commanders are with White. He could very well end up being a free-agent steal.

The tight end no one is talking about. Yankoff, entering his third season, served as Washington's fourth tight end and stars on special teams. He's extremely athletic, having played running back and wide receiver at UCLA. When he's had an opportunity on offense, Yankoff has shown off his athleticism. On Thursday, Yankoff made the most impressive catch of training camp through two days.
Colson Yankoff just had the best catch of Commanders camp. 50-50 ball over the middle during red zone.

CB Rasul Douglas
Rasul Douglas took the podium after the first day of training camp and told reporters, "Turnovers. That's what I do." He was impressive on the first day of camp, providing sticky coverage on Washington's wide receivers. On Thursday, Douglas had another good day in coverage, but he also came away with an interception.

Kickers Jake Moody and Drew Stevens
Washington's kickers were perfect on Wednesday and followed that up with another perfect day on Thursday. Every day counts in this competition. While the preseason games will likely factor in the Commanders' decision, Moody and Stevens understand that they can't afford a slow start to camp.
