Barcelona are reportedly closing in on a transfer for Rodri and are optimistic they can seal a deal for the Manchester City midfielder shortly.
According to Matteo Moretto, talks between the two clubs are “entering the final stretch” and Barcelona are now “aiming to close the deal in the coming hours for an amount exceeding 70 million euros, between fixed base and variables.”
Barcelona have made a third and final offer to Manchester City for their World Cup winner, who is believed to have made it clear to the Premier League side he wants to move to Camp Nou.
Rodri was back at Manchester City on Friday to start pre-season, with manager Enzo Maresca admitting that “anything can still happen” regarding the midfielder.
Barcelona are now hoping that Rodri can be signed, sealed, delivered and then presented to fans at Wednesday’s Joan Gamper Trophy game against Al Ahly at Camp Nou.
