After sitting out the team's preseason opener, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix made his 2026 debut against the Green Bay Packers last week, and he looked sharp . Nix went 6-of-9 passing for 76 yards with one touchdown, leading two scoring drives before exiting the game with a 10-7 lead.
Now the question is: Have the Broncos seen enough?
Denver has one preseason game remaining, at home against the Minnesota Vikings on Friday, but it remains to be seen if Nix will suit up for that contest.
Broncos coach Sean Payton was clearly frustrated after last week's 33-13 loss to Green Bay, and he did not reveal if Nix would play against Minnesota.
“I’m not getting into next week," Payton said. "I want to play them all until the third quarter next week. So let’s figure out the tape [over the weekend], see where we’re at, and let’s do what’s best for us as we prepare for the Chiefs.”
Denver's set to travel to Kansas City for their regular season opener in September, and Nix would like to get more reps before that Monday Night Football showdown.
"I think as a competitor, that’s an easy answer," Nix said when asked if he wants to play in the team's preseason finale. "I’d like to play as much as I can, but I have no control over that.”
Nix was later asked in a follow-up question if he feels he'd gotten enough reps to be ready for Week 1.
“I’ve played a lot of football," Nix said. "I think I could walk in any game and be fine.”
