OXFORD — Another former Ole Miss football player is leaving the NFL to join coach Lane Kiffin and LSU.
Defensive tackle Zxavian Harris is transferring to LSU, per a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports on Aug. 24.
Harris previously voiced his displeasure about how Kiffin handled his departure. Kiffin left Ole Miss before the Rebels played in their first College Football Playoff game.
"When Kiffin was there, he was telling us like almost every day, don't believe the rumors," Harris said in February, according to The Athletic . "Like, he's not gonna leave, to keep us focused. But by the time it came, everybody was starstruck. He told us not to believe the rumors. We should have believed it, and he just left out of nowhere."
Harris just became eligible to return to college football. A court order in Louisiana on Aug. 19 obtained by the Clarion Ledger granted him and 15 other college football players − including former Ole Miss tight end Dae'Quan Wright and defensive back Wydett Williams − a temporary restring order against the NCAA.

— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) August 24, 2026 Harris was undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft, but was ranked as the No. 5 defensive tackle available in ESPN's pre-draft rankings. He played four years at Ole Miss started all 15 games in 2025. He had 58 tackles and three sacks last season.
Harris will be the sixth player from the Ole Miss roster in 2025 to join Kiffin at LSU. Wright is also leaving the NFL to join LSU. Linebacker TJ Dottery, edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen, offensive lineman Devin Harper and receiver Winston Watkins transferred from Ole Miss to LSU after the end of the 2025 season.
Ole Miss will host LSU on Sept. 19.
