NFL insiders have revealed the extent of Shanahan’s injuries, and Shanahan has accepted responsibility for the accident , but further details have not surfaced.
And don’t expect them to be.
Shanahan suffered a severe concussion, a broken left hand/wrist, a broken nose, three fractured ribs, and deep facial lacerations in the accident, with good friend Chris Simms saying the head coach nearly lost his eye.

That’s the extent of the public’s knowledge about Shanahan’s accident, and the Palo Alto Police Department will not be releasing any more. According to TMZ Sports , the bodycam footage and 911 call from the accident are “ exempt from disclosure ” under the California Public Records Act.

There were reports of a clerical error, which initially blamed the other driver for the accident, before Shanahan told reporters he took his eyes off the road to search for his phone.

There are still many questions about the accident, but we are no closer to getting answers. And it doesn’t look like the public will be receiving them anytime soon, unless Shanahan decides to provide more.
That doesn’t seem likely.
