The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman got the scoop on the Green Bay Packers’ injuries from the team’s victory over the Denver Broncos on Friday. According to Schneidman, five Packers suffered injuries last night.
The first is cornerback Brandon Cisse , who we knew got banged up on special teams between the first and second drive of defense against Denver. After the game, Cisse stated that his knee injury was “ nothing serious ,” and Schneidman described the decision to keep Cisse out as “mostly precautionary.”
Defensive lineman Warren Brinson injured his calf in warmups, which is why he didn’t play a single snap for the Packers on Friday , while also not being listed as a scratch for the game. Receiver J. Michael Sturdivant was evaluated for a concussion, but the diagnosis is unknown, per Schneidman.
Here are the ones that weren’t caught by the broadcast team:
Receiver Savion Williams injured his ankle, which is why he only played two offensive snaps (both with the first-team offense) yesterday. Edge rusher Collin Oliver has a calf injury, too. Oliver played six defensive snaps and seven special teams snaps versus the Broncos.
For whatever it’s worth, we had all five of these injured players making Green Bay’s initial 53-man roster in our most recent projection , so losing any of them to a long-term injury would obviously have an influence on roster cutdowns.
The next opportunity for the Packers to address these injuries will be before Monday’s practice. For what it’s worth, receiver Jayden Reed didn’t miss Friday’s game with an injury, but was out with a personal matter.
