The medical examiner said the victim, Paul Keuker, died of multiple blunt impact injuries.
The Connecticut man fell to his death at Madison Square Garden on June 20, during a Goose concert.
Keuker was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital.
Goose, a jam-rock band from Connecticut, released a statement on social media after hearing of Keuker's death.
"We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight's show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support," the band said in a social media post.
GoFundMe says a page to support his family has raised more than $85,000.
