In the PFL New York main event, Nurmagomedov (22-0) laid waste to the previously-unbeaten Archie Colgan (13-1) with a first-round knockout in 3:42 at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y.
The finishing flurry began with a big right switch high kick. Colgan hit the floor and scrambled back up, only to be put down again by a left hand. Colgan grabbed for a leg. Nurmagomedov slipped his leg out as Colgan got up. This time, Nurmagomedov landed a combination that there was no getting up from. Colgan was cracked and dropped to his knees. Referee Keith Peterson dove in after a few more follow-up shots.

— PFL (@PFLMMA) August 1, 2026 With the victory, Nurmagomedov retained his PFL lightweight title and concluded his contract with an emphatic win.
"We'll see what's going on," Nurmagomedov said in the cage after the fight. "It was my last fight (on my contract). MVP, they always trash talks a little bit about Dana – he doesn't pay. Now we're going to see how they're going to pay."
Nurmagomedov, 28, is widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters outside the UFC. A cousin of MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, the spotlight has long been on him. However, Nurmagomedov has not only embraced it – he'sn thrived in it. Friday's finish was the 16th of his pro career.
