Add Page Six on Google Kris Jenner’s mom Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell's cause of death was revealed to be acute cardiopulmonary arrest.
Other conditions leading to her death included acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer, which she had been battling for months, according to the death certificate obtained by Us Weekly on Tuesday.
The family matriarch died at a Los Angeles hospital on July 16 and was cremated on July 23, per the certificate. No autopsy was performed after her death.
As Page Six previously reported, Jenner announced her mom's death on July 16 in an emotional Instagram post. She was 91.
“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. 😞💔,” the talent manager wrote at the time. “There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye.”
Jenner, 70, credited her mother as “the heart of [their] family.”
“She showed us how to love unconditionally and how to find joy in the little moments,” Jenner went on. “She showed me how to face life’s challenges with resilience and faith.”
In her emotional tribute, Jenner also thanked her mom for "every sacrifice [she] made, every piece of wisdom [she] shared, and every moment [she] loved [the family] so completely."
Kris' daughters Kylie Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian “liked” the post.
Several members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan also posted their own tributes.
Kim Kardashian initially came under fire the day of Campbell's death for a poorly timed pre-scheduled social media post of her vacation — but immediately rectified it by sharing a touching tribute dedicated to her “sweet” grandmother shortly after.
Campbell died 10 days before her would-be 92nd birthday.
When she turned 91 last summer, Kris posted about the birthday festivities the following month.
“The most beautiful day celebrating my mom’s 91st birthday,” the reality star gushed last year. “Lunch at The Ivy surrounded by love!🤍💐🎂”
In addition to Kris, Campbell was the mother of Karen Houghton, who died “unexpectedly” of cardiac arrest in March 2024 at 65.
