Knowings played various characters on the popular Nickelodeon kids’ show over three years and 32 episodes, from 1997 to 2000. All That featured several notable cast members, including Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell .
Thompson, who went on to star as an ensemble cast member on Saturday Night Live , wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, “Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!”
According to TMZ , Christy Knowings got her break to star on All That after appearing in the Rosie O’Donnell sketch-comedy And Now This for Nickelodeon.
Knowings was born Feb. 25, 1980, in the Bronx, New York. The actress’ screen debut was in a guest role in the FOX series New York Undercover in 1994. Her last credited role was in Sesame Street , in which she appeared alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings, over three episodes from 2008 to 2011. Chris Knowings appeared frequently on Sesame Street , appearing in 109 episodes from 1996 to 2024.
Christy Knowings also wrote and performed the song “Being” for the soundtrack of the 2009 drama Mother and Child , starring Naomi Watts, Annette Bening and Kerry Washington.
“Christy was a multi-talented lady,” the actress’ manager, Al Hill, said in a statement issued to Variety . "Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work."
