The Seattle Seahawks scored on their opening drive vs. the Dallas Cowboys in preseason Week 1, on a Drew Lock 5-yard pass to wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. The Seahawks’ KIRO 7 broadcast crew of Michael Robinson and Kate Scott applauded the timing, play call and chemistry immediately.

— Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) August 16, 2026 Foster Jr. is an outside candidate looking in at Jake Bobo, the main special teams/depth receiver, and likely competing with Emmanuel Henderson Jr., Irv Charles, and Cody White for the final spot in the WR room. One must wonder if this execution impressed Frisman Jackson, the Seahawks’ low-profile wide receivers coach who was featured on the latest Hard Knocks .
We should get a better outlook on the running back and tight end rooms as Brian Fleury’s drives progress tonight, but Foster struck first in the WR room battle. It’s always nice to see Lock look fresh when needed as the backup, and Fleury capitalizing on his opening drive. The Dallas' defensive front did heat up on the second drive, forcing a 3-and-out on one pass for -1 yard, and two incompletes. The Cowboys now have the ball, and Tyrice Knight and Shemar Jean-Charles are battling their offense in a game that's getting more physical as it progresses. You'll be happy to hear that All-Pro punter Michael Dickson looks as good as ever after getting his first game action, though.
