Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Carson Beck played with intensified passion in the 33-30 loss to the Carolina Panthers in the Hall of Fame game this last Thursday. Perhaps his precision passing will continue for the rest of the preseason.
Having already accepted the fact that he won’t outwit team politics, Beck used his passing arm to exemplify his potential as the top prospect for the Cardinals franchise. Yes Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett did sign the big contract, but that occurrence won’t end the quarterback controversy for Cardinals fans outside of team headquarters. Beck is an ultimate competitor and while he may currently be placed at the bottom of the team depth chart, he’s not taking his opportunity to show off his talent in the 2026 preseason lightly.
In Thursday’s loss, Beck completed an impressive 15 of his 19 passing attempts for 188 yards and one touchdown . It’ll be interesting to see if Beck gets an opportunity to operate with the first-team offense at some point the preseason. Beck is however a rookie and at the hands of head coach Mike LaFleur, Beck must be consistent. Perhaps thenafter Beck could tread upward to the No. 2 spot on the team depth chart.
