For the first time in Missouri State football history, a former quarterback has led the huddle in an NFL game.
Jacob Clark made his NFL debut for the Las Vegas Raiders in the team’s final preseason game on Thursday, Aug. 27. He is the first former Bears quarterback to take an NFL rep in history, preseason or regular season.
The undrafted free agent entered into the game in the closing minute. Clark took two snaps, which included an 18-yard pass to end the game.
Clark has battled all camp with a strong quarterback room that features veterans Kirk Cousins and Aidan O’Connell. The Raiders also drafted Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza in this year’s draft.

Clark played two seasons with the Bears, totaling 8,081 passing yards. 64 touchdowns and 19 interceptions in his career. He led the Bears to a bowl game last year in the team’s first season at the FBS level.
Clark is not expected to make the Raiders roster because of the team’s depth at the position. Once he is waived, NFL teams can put a claim on him. If he is not claimed, Clark can sign anywhere for a role on a practice team or better.
