See the full story · 1 sourcesKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Cyrus Allen spoke with reporters after practice on Sunday at Missouri Western State University. He commented on the first few days of camp and learning the complexity of the playbook.
"They definitely were right that this is one of the hardest training camps for sure," said Allen, "Just getting my feet wet and understanding like the playbook and everything and just keep going for real. That's really it."
Allen tied for third last season in the FBS with 13 receiving touchdowns, setting a University of Cincinnati single-season record. He is seeking an opportunity for playing time as a rookie as he continues to learn head coach Andy Reid's system.
"Just learning every spot," said Allen, "I'm a guy that tried to learn the whole playbook from, like, even the protections and everything, so that's kind of how I think, so I can be available for it if my number is called."
During his last college season, Allen was named Second-team All-Big 12 Conference and led Cincinnati with 51 receptions and 674 receiving yards. He started all 13 games in 2025.
