Will Sammon of The Athletic was first to report Aug. 2 that the Mets will send Peralta, a two-time All-Star, to the Tampa Bay Rays. The return going to New York has not yet been reported.
A top-of-the-rotation starter with the Milwaukee Brewers, Peralta has struggled in his first season with the New York Mets (5-9, 4.99).
