See the full story · 2 sourcesIt’s almost shocking that it took Netflix until the year 2026 to release a feature film about Ted Kaczynski, aka the Unabomber. Sure, the streamer has released some true crime about him, but this new Unabomber has Jacob Tremblay—perhaps still best known for playing the son of a kidnapping victim in 2015’s Room —portraying Kaczynski as he comes to learn that we do, in fact, live in a society. The trailer for the film that Netflix released this morning seems to present two different timelines: One focused on Kaczynski’s coming of age and eventually decision to retreat from, and then fight against, the world, and another focused on Shailene Woodley’s FBI Agent Joanne Miller (who, based on some quick googling, seems to be a fiction or composite character) and her search for him. Russell Crowe also stars as Professor Henry Murray, the man who experimented on Kaczynski during his time at Harvard.
Annabelle Wallis, Alexander Ludwig, Steven Ogg, and Marc Menchaca also feature in the cast. Unabomber comes from director Janus Metz, who most recently has a few episodes of Andor to his credit, and premieres on Netflix on September 25. Take a look at the trailer below.
