LeBron James’ decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers rocked the world of sport over recent days and fans are already pining to get their hands on a jersey.
Signing a global megastar of James’ calibre is always going to have a positive impact on the revenue streams for a franchise like the Sixers.
One of the biggest ways in which the Sixers will benefit is through jersey sales, with reports suggesting James has already surpassed Shohei Ohtani’s for the most jerseys sold by any player switching teams within the first 48 hours.
However, it has become apparent that one Sixers fan was unwilling to wait for his new jersey showing up in the post as he took matters into his own hands.
Although he has not got his hands on a James jersey yet, one fan has gone viral online for his unique method in showing his support for ‘King James’.

Sixers’ ticket prices have sky-rocketed following James’ signing , with fans resorting to other methods to show their support for the basketball great.
One Sixers fan has gone viral online after purposely getting sunburnt whilst using sunblock to spell out ‘James 23’ on his back.
Purposely sunburning yourself is not something that is advised, but this Sixers fan has taken matters into his own hands as the wait for official jerseys goes on.
‘Philly fans are just built different,’ the post from Draft Kings was captioned.
Speaking on the matter, Sixers fan Joey Abel explained his reasoning behind the stunt to the Inquirer .
“I was just like, ‘How can I get a LeBron James jersey as fast as possible?’ And for some reason, that’s where my mind went,” he said.
James can expect more support like this when he finally gets to work in Philadelphia ahead of the new season.
