Voters in Michigan are selecting which Democratic candidate will face a former congressman in a high-stakes race that could decide which party controls the Senate next year.
In the Democratic Senate primary, moderate Rep. Haley Stevens and progressive Dr. Abdul El-Sayed are running to face Republican Rep. Mike Rogers in November’s general election in an open seat being vacated by retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters.
There are also competitive races to replace term-limited Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and in two U.S. House districts.
