Fall sports for area high schools is in full swing, with the official kickoff of high school football last Friday night. It's now time to begin recognizing standout efforts from Tuscarawas-area student-athletes.
Take time to cast your vote for your choice during our first Times-Reporter Athletes of the Week poll for the fall sports season for the week of Aug. 17-23.
The poll will close Friday, Aug. 28 at Noon.
Nominations for Athlete of the Week can be sent to [email protected] by noon Sunday. Please include the athlete's name, school and sport and a little about their accomplishment that week.

Here are this week's football nominees:
Dieter Weber, Dover football : He completed 17 passes for 242 yards, one touchdown and added three touchdowns on the ground.
Mike Ritterbeck, Fairless football : He threw for 169 yards, three touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns.
Coleton Adams, Tusky Valley football: In his first career start Adams threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-0 victory.
Jaxon Jones, Malern football : He threw for 143 yards and a touchdown and on the ground he added 36 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Brody Baughman, Strasburg football : He totaled five total touchdowns with four coming in the air in the Tigers 43-14 victory.
B raylon Brooks, Garaway football : He recorded eight tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks in the Pirates 20-6 stifling against Canton South.
Ryker Williams, Indian Valley football : He totaled 140 yards and two touchdowns in the air and 79 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Reese St. Clair, Indian Valley football : He got the ball 11 times in the backfield, going for a game-high 153 yards and one touchdown.
Dante Clark, Dover football: He snagged eight catches for the Crimson Tornadoes going for 143 yards, while also running in a touchdown.
Brady Henry, Claymont football: After suffering a season ending injury last year, he tossed for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
