See the full story · 1 sourcesFormer Germany midfielder Julian Brandt has signed at Dutch club Ajax after not having his contract at Borussia Dortmund renewed.
The Amsterdam club said late Friday that 30-year-old Brandt has signed for three years until 2029.
Juventus, Galatasaray and Leeds United had reportedly also been interested in Brandt, who has won 48 Germany caps and spent seven years in Dortmund where he played more than 300 matches.
"With Julian, we are bringing in a top international player with a wealth of experience and a fantastic mentality. I am convinced he will add real quality to our squad," Ajax director Jordi Cruyff said.
Another German may also arrive at Ajax as goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is reportedly close to a loan move from Barcelona.
