Packers work out 9 players on Monday

The Green Bay Packers are back in town for training camp, and they had their first big series of workouts of the offseason. In total, the team brought in nine players, including four running backs, three tights and two players who are eligible for international exemptions. Let’s break down these players.

Jefferson was picked in the seventh round by the Detroit Lions and has also spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals (under Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon) and San Francisco 49ers. He was waived by the 49ers on June 2nd.
For his career, he’s played in 11 NFL games (seven in his rookie season in 2021) and has posted 21 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He’s played 25 total special teams snaps in his NFL career and hasn’t had experience there as a returner.

Major played five seasons at Oklahoma before transferring to Minnesota for his final year of college football in 2024. He had a cup of coffee with the Baltimore Ravens last season before resurfacing with the Houston Gamblers this spring. He finished third in a three-man committee in Houston and posted 43 carries for 228 yards (5.3 yards per carry) along with three touchdowns.

Hey, an old friend. The Packers signed Jalen White as an undrafted free agent last year but eventually placed him on the injured reserve and waived him in training camp with an injury settlement. When he was healthy again, White signed with the UFL’s Gamblers, where he got the most carries on the team (90) and ran for 268 yards (3.0 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. White was getting a good amount of work on special teams last preseason before he went down with an injury.

Wright is a 27-year-old who got his start in the NFL as a UDFA in 2023 after spending five years in college football at William & Mary and Monmouth. He’s played in four NFL games (including four last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and handled some kickoff return duty (3 of 73, long of 28) for Tampa. He was waived by the Buccaneers in May.
TE Josh Beetham
Beetham was a reserve on Michigan’s 2023 title team, after transferring from Illinois, and then later played two more seasons with Georgia Tech. In total, he posted nine receptions for 163 yards (18.1 yards per reception) and a touchdown at the college level, mostly coming in his final season at Tech. After six years in college, he has not earned a roster spot as a UDFA with a team up to this point. He did make The Athletic’s The Beast , where he was reported to have measured in at 6’5” and 254 pounds at his pro day and ran a 5.06 40-yard dash and was.ranked as the 78th tight end in the class.
TE Drew Biber
Like Beetham, Biber is another potential 2026 UDFA. He participated at the American Bowl with Team Guardians, where he shared the tight end room with Packers signing R.J. Maryland.
Biber played at Purdue for four seasons before transferring to Minnesota for his senior year. He posted 33 receptions for 271 yards (8.2 per) and a touchdown in his college career. He was listed as the 37th tight end in the 2026 class per The Beast , which reported that he was 6’3.5” and 247 pounds at his pro day and ran a 4.88-second 40-yard dash.
TE Thomas Yassmin
Yassmin is a former rugby player who is eligible to be designated as an international exemption player (currently a spot taken by edge rusher Dante Barnett). Yassmin transitioned to football in South Wales before joining Utah’s football team. After six years of college football, he got his NFL start with the Denver Broncos and was also a member of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2025. He was drafted in the CFL’s global draft as the 14th overall pick in the 2024 class, becoming the second tight end off the board (five of the first nine picks were kickers or punters, for perspective).
When the Broncos signed Yassmin, he received $47,000 in guarantees. For reference, the Packers signed R.J. Maryland to $15,000 in guaranteed money this offseason. Yassmin’s initial signing cost dwarfs more than half of Green Bay’s 2026 UDFA signings.
Between being let go by the Broncos and signing with the Chargers, Yassmin also worked out with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025. Yassmin was waived by Los Angeles in May.
