Paul George's two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers didn't go exactly how he or the team expected it to go, but he did show flashes of what made him a star in this league.
George averaged 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting 43.4% from the floor and 37.5% from deep in two seasons with Philadelphia. He was then sent to the Boston Celtics in early July in the Jaylen Brown trade. The production wasn't what the Sixers were hoping for and he only played 78 combined games, but he did provide a ton of mentorship for VJ Edgecombe in his maiden season in the league.
Overall, though, George has put together one helluva career. So much so that HoopsHype ranked the top 20 small forwards in the history of the NBA and George comes in ranked No. 17:
Already boasting a borderline Hall-of-Fame resume, Paul George could undoubtedly finish even higher on this ranking if he bounces back from injury problems. An elite two-way player, George can score at a high level from three, the midrange and around the cup.
George has career averages of 20.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists along with 1.7 steals in his 16 seasons in the league. He is a 9-time All-Star, has made four All-Defensive Teams, and six All-NBA Teams. At the end of the day, George has put together one terrific career and the Sixers benefited from having him on the roster.
