"I mean, just this group is a a little bit more quiet than I said than other DB personalities that I've been around. So it's been a little bit harder to get the shell out of them a little more. So I would take them out to dinner every week during OTAs. Take them out, we'll hang out, just little stuff like that, and they're a great group," said Gilman. "I love every single one of them." They've welcomed me with open arms and are just hard workers, just straight to the point, kind of like me, kind of a no-nonsense, just get to work and let's get after it kind of people."
The veteran safety has recorded 320 tackles, 1 sack, 5 interceptions, and 6 fumble recoveries in his six-year career. He appreciates the role of a veteran leader on the team among young players in his unit, without having to be the most vocal.
"I've evolved in that as well as a player. I wouldn't say I'm the loudest, but you know I feel like when I speak, my words mean a lot," said Gilman. "I try to be as genuine as possible, and be a friend, be a brother, and that's kind of how I approach it."
Gilman signed a three-year, $24.75 million deal with $15 million guaranteed. In 2025, he started all 17 games for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Baltimore Ravens, recording 90 tackles.
