Asencio’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football
Asencio had a solid campaign at the Madrid club recently as he managed to put in a string of impressive performances for them on the defensive end of the field. The 23-year-old made 23 league appearances for Los Blancos last season, scoring two goals in the process.
The Spanish talent is currently among the most talented centre-backs in La Liga. Therefore, Liverpool would do well to get a deal done for him in this transfer period.
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for the Reds to land him on the cheap this off-season.

Should Liverpool Boss Andoni Iraola Get Asencio on Board?
Asencio loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.
Standing at 1.84m, the Spaniard is a strong presence in the air as well. Asencio is primarily a central defender but can also play as a right-back if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up this summer.
We can expect Asencio to add more bite and steel to Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons.
At 23, Asencio has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Reds to pursue in this transfer window. Thus, Iraola should focus on getting him on board before the end of this transfer period. However, Liverpool will have to give him some time to adjust to life in England before they can get the best out of him.
