Well . . .
The ratings are in for this summer's opener—and according to NBC Sports , the Panthers and Cardinals drew an average of 7.0 million viewers. That viewership, which was brought in through NBC and Peacock, makes for the network's most-watched Hall of Fame Game since 2017—when Arizona squared off against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fans were treated to a thrilling back-and-forth affair, one that starred two rookie quarterbacks. For Arizona, it was third-round pick Carson Beck—who completed 15 of his 19 passes for a game-high 188 yards and a touchdown. For Carolina, it was undrafted free-agent signee Haynes King—who passed for 180 yards and two touchdowns and ran in the game-winning score as time expired.
On the scoreboard, the Panthers' walk-off 33-30 victory registered as the second-highest scoring Hall of Fame Game in history. The triumph also marked the first time both teams scored at least 30 points inside of Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
