AT&T Stadium cost $1.2 billion to build, but its east-west orientation allows low sun angles to stream through massive end-zone glass panels during fall afternoon games. Players, coaches and fans have hated it for years.
Things finally boiled over in November 2024 when CeeDee Lamb completely lost a pass in the end zone against the Philadelphia Eagles because of the glare. After the game, Lamb admitted he couldn't see the ball at all and said he would "one thousand percent" support putting up curtains.
Jerry Jones shut that idea down instantly. Since the 83-year-old owner refuses to fix it, Lamb found his own fix heading into the 2026 season.
CeeDee Lamb takes matters into his own hands
During training camp, CeeDee Lamb turned heads by catching passes with a mesh net pulled over his helmet. The net intentionally restricts his vision, forcing his eyes to focus much harder on tracking the ball out of the Jugs machine.
When the drill went viral, Lamb told reporters , "I gotta practice catching without seeing the ball. My owner refuses to fix the issue with the sunlight coming into the stadium, so I gotta adapt."

On the road, his yardage drops to 3,514 yards and only 17 touchdowns, even though his reception total increased to 292. Still, he can't afford a stadium glare problem while playing on his own home ground.
This isn't the first time Lamb’s stadium struggles have made headlines, but it’s the first time fans joked he built a training drill around it. The stakes are higher than ever in Year 2 of the Schottenheimer era, with the Cowboys facing massive pressure to get back to the playoffs.
What might finally move the needle on the stadium's sun problem is the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. AT&T Stadium hosted nine matches this summer, and FIFA brought in temporary setups to block the afternoon sun glare.
Jerry Jones clearly took notice of the alternative solutions. In a training camp interview with FOX 4, Jones admitted , "I'm thinking about it. As we look at it, I like some of the effects of the tinting, so we're giving that a thought."
He made sure to note the difference between considering a change and actually making one, so fans shouldn't expect new windows just yet.
