To that end, the Blue Jays acquired Jameson Taillon, who was designated for assignment by the Chicago Cubs earlier this week, in a trade on Aug. 2.
The full trade will send Taillon and cash considerations to Toronto, with the Cubs getting a player to be named later or cash.
Taillon, 34, was 2-6 with a 5.92 ERA in 15 starts for the Cubs before he was DFA’d on July 27.

In a corresponding 40-man roster move, the Blue Jays moved second baseman Lenyn Sosa to the 60-day injured list.
