Guerrero was removed from the Toronto Blue Jays ' Tuesday, July 28 game after three innings due to right hamstring tightness. He was replaced by Kazuma Okamoto, who hit his 24th home run in his first at-bat.
Guerrero has not fared as well; he has just six home runs − none of them at home − and is batting .264 with a .700 OPS in the first year of his 14-year, $500 million contract.
Guerrero appeared to suffer the injury when he hit an infield single in the top of the third and then advanced to second on a throwing error by Washington third baseman Jorbit Vivas.
