Training camp is underway, and for fans across the NFL that means hopes and dreams of lifting a Lombardi Trophy at the end of the season.
For the Seattle Seahawks the arrival of training camp means preparing to defend their crown as World Champions after lifting a Lombardi Trophy on the home field of the division rival San Francisco 49ers last February at Levi’s Stadium.
The next time the Seahawks are scheduled to visit Santa Clara to take on the division rival 49ers in the stadium where Seattle thumped the New England Patriots 29-13 on their way to winning Super Bowl LX is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. And, when the Seahawks and 49ers face off, it is expected that San Francisco will be without one of its starting receivers, as a report from Adam Schefter Saturday indicates that 2024 first-round pick Ricky Pearsall is expected to have season-ending surgery on the knee injury that forced him to miss half of the 2025 season.

Pearsall has appeared in just 20 of 34 regular season games in his career, hauling in just 67 passes for 928 yards and three touchdowns during his two seasons in the NFL since being drafted 31st overall out of Arizona State.
