The first official day of practice for Michigan High School Athletic Association football, volleyball, boys soccer, cross country, girls swimming, girls golf and boys tennis teams was Monday, Aug. 10.
Several Monroe County Region teams, including Airport football, St. Mary Catholic Central cross country and Flat Rock swimming, could not wait to get started. They held their first official workouts at 12:01 a.m.
Here is a look at some of those workouts.

Girls golf and boys tennis teams are permitted to hold their first contests on Friday.
Most of the Region teams will wait until the following week.
Competition for volleyball, soccer, cross country and swimming may start on Aug. 19.
The first football games will be played Aug. 27.
