Former Washington Commanders safety Will Harris, released earlier this week, visited the Tennessee Titans on Friday. Harris spent only one season with the Commanders, and it was last year. He played only nine games after spending much of the year on injured reserve.
Harris started his career playing with the Detroit Lions for four seasons before spending the 2024 season with the New Orleans Saints . His strong campaign with the Saints, with an interception, 74 total tackles, and five passes defended, led Washington to sign him to a two-year contract in March 2025.
Just three weeks into last season, Harris fractured his fibula, which caused him to be out until Week 13. In his nine total games with the Commanders, he put up a sack, a forced fumble, three passes defended and 38 total tackles.
As part of final roster cutdowns before finalizing the final 53-man roster, Washington decided to release Harris back on Tuesday. The deadline for initial 53-man roster cuts is Sun. Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. EST.
The Washington Commanders, along with every other team in the league, will have some difficult decisions to make ahead of that deadline. However, their preseason game against Baltimore may have given the Commanders some clarity in making their roster cuts.
