James landed on the Philadelphia 76ers as the team he wants to spend the final seasons of his career with. This marks LeBron’s fourth “Decision,” adding another championship roster to his list of teams.
Throughout his 23-year career, James has played on some of the most talented rosters in NBA history. With arguably his best roster now surrounding him in Philadelphia, here’s a ranking of the five best teams LeBron James has been a part of.

5. 2008-09 Cleveland Cavaliers
Despite not winning a championship, this Cavaliers team belongs on the list. Cleveland finished 66-16, tied for the best regular-season record of LeBron’s career. James won his first MVP, finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting and carried a roster without another superstar to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Anthony Davis, arguably the best player LeBron’s played beside, had the best season a LeBron teammate has had. The Lakers finished 52-19, while James led the league in assists and proved he was still one of the NBA’s most dominant players.

3. 2026-2027 Philadelphia 76ers
If this ranking was based on talent alone, Philadelphia would be an obvious choice for number one. A lineup featuring LeBron, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, V.J. Edgecombe and Joel Embiid is extremely dangerous, and by far the best roster he’s ever been a part of. It all comes down to how they perform when they get out on the court.
2. 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers
This team has a legitimate case for No. 1. The Cavs were led by James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Cleveland erased a 3-1 Finals deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors, a team that holds the best NBA regular season record of all time. LeBron also tied the most 40-point games of any playoff run in NBA history with 8.
1. 2012-13 Miami Heat

Miami finished with a 66-16 record, won its second straight NBA championship, and featured LeBron, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, the best big three he’s been a part of. Miami had incredible depth with players like Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole leading the way.
