The Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers kick off the 2026 preseason with their Hall of Fame Game clash on Thursday, Aug. 6 on NBC, and Week 1 of the preseason officially kicks off the following week on Aug. 13.
As we count down the days until the start of the NFL regular season — which kicks off with a Super Bowl LX rematch between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots on “Sunday Night Football” on Sept. 9 — we continue to look at key offseason storylines for each of the league’s 32 teams.
This week, we’re looking as the players most in danger of being cut during the preseason, and we’ve arrived at the Las Vegas Raiders .
While Laube may be popular among fans, his time with the Raiders might be coming to an end. Vegas needs a capable backup to Ashton Jeanty, and Arkansas rookie Mike Washington Jr. appears to be it.
Laube, Roman Hemby, and Chris Collier Jr. will battle it out for the RB3 job, and if Laube had gained more than nine yards rushing in his NFL career, he might be favored for the RB3 role. However, Hemby had a solid college career, and after rushing for 1,120 yards and seven scores for Indiana last year, he’s got to be the favorite.
Wide receiver is a position he Raiders can’t afford to be picky with, but Dorsett hasn’t played in the NFL in two years, and he hasn’t had more than 29 catches or 260 yards since 2019 when he was with the New England Patriots.
At 33, and given his injury history, it’s hard seeing Dorsett beat out younger, hungrier WRs like rookie Malik Benson, Shedrick Jackson, Dont’e Thornton, E.J. Williams, or Dareke Young.
When Vegas drafted Treydan Stukes in the second round of the 2026 draft, it basically started the clock on Pola-Mao’s time with the team. Though he’s been a starting safety for the last few years, it’s tough to see him holding off the rookie out of Arizona for long.
